Sometimes, it seems that the timeless tradition of neighbor helping neighbor becomes lost in daily life. But time and again, when tragedy occurs, in this community, we help our neighbors.

At the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, that philosophy serves as the basis for everything we do. Our business was founded in 1900 in Guys Mills, PA by our great-grandfather Willard Waid. In 1929, he moved the funeral home to Meadville, the home of the young Allegheny College. For the past 115 years, we have been privileged to provide our community with quality end of life care. We offer our services to honor life and to comfort those who grieve.

Since the first day the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home first offered its services to the people of the Meadville area, the concept of "our family helping your family" has been reflected in the services we offer, in our professional, caring staff, and in our comfortable surroundings. Throughout the years, the families of the community have found our efforts to be of great value in helping them arrange funeral services that are most meaningful and appropriate for those who remain, while incorporating the wishes of the person who has died. That is why we offer services that can be customized and tailored to the wants and desires of each family we serve.
