Dr. Seung Chan (Sam) Lee, 85, formerly of Meadville, passed away peacefully on August 21, 2022.
He was born in Korea in 1937, graduated in 1962 from the Catholic University of Korea, and served in the Korean navy during the Vietnam War. Sam and Pok raised their children among dear friends and colleagues in Meadville. He worked for almost 30 years as an anesthesiologist and later as the chief of anesthesiology at Meadville Medical Center.
Sam enjoyed gathering with friends and family to hike and play mahjong, and especially golf. He also loved reading the New York Times, National Geographic, and Time Magazine, which he subscribed to and studied first when he was in high school. Upon his retirement, Sam and Pok moved to Mukilteo, WA. They traveled frequently to visit their children and grandchildren as well as with friends to places like Peru and Thailand.
