Roger M. Crump

Roger M. Crump, 90, of Meadville went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, May 17, 2023, at Meadville Medical Center.

He was born March 9, 1933, in Sistersville, WV, a son of the late Arthur R. and Eulah F. McNeal Crump.  He married Karen Garrison on October 3, 1992.

Roger was a Veteran of the U.S. Army.  He was a 1957 graduate of the University of Kentucky with a B.A. in Journalism.  Following graduation, he traveled to Java, Indonesia, working with the UK academic team upgrading the Indonesia University system. Throughout his career, Roger worked in retail as well as in corporate real estate for G.C. Murphy Company, Grossman’s and Moore’s Building Supply, and B.J.’s Wholesale Clubs.

He was a member of Barton Road United Brethren Church as well as the Christian Layman’s Gospel League (prison ministry).  Roger enjoyed studying the Bible as well as photography and music.

Survivors, in addition to his loving wife Karen, include two children, Brian Crump (Tracy) of Calhoun, LA and Angela Kidner of West Monroe, LA; a grandson, Blake Kidner; a sister, Sarah Crump of Lyndhurst, OH; one nephew, Judson Brown; and two nieces, Hayley Brown (Chris Mosby) and Libbey Burns (Thomas).

Calling hours will be Saturday, May 20th from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the ROBERT W. WAID FUNERAL HOME, 581 CHESTNUT ST., MEADVILLE where the funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. with the Rev. Randy, Marketich, Pastor of Barton Road United Brethren Church, officiating.

Interment will be in Greendale Cemetery with military honors provided by VFW Post 2006.
