William H. Wooley, 76, of Guys Mills, passed away Friday, January 31, 2020 at his residence.
He was born August 10, 1943 in Meadville, a son of Oscar Wooley, Sr. and Ruth L. Hunter Peters. He married Barbara Jean Peters August 15, 1964 and she preceded him in death May 27, 2013.
Bill worked at Advanced Cast Products for 43 years. He was a lifetime member and former fire chief of Randolph Township Volunteer Fire Department. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing bingo and attending Maplewood High School sporting events.
Survivors include a son, William Wooley (fiancée Laurie Curtis) of Meadville; two daughters, Tami-Sue Murphy (Richard) of Guys Mills and Betty Rawlings (Richard) of Meadville; adopted daughter, Mary VanHouten of Guys Mills; twelve grandchildren, Kaycee, Andrew and Michael Wooley, Joseph Murphy, Haylee Bendorf, Adrienne Wheaton, Brandon and Caiden Rawlings, Eve Lynn, Christopher Mailliard, Cassandra Fronce and James Choitz; six great-grandchildren, Jaxon, Harper, Daynah, Ryder, Kylee and Finley; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a stillborn daughter; two brothers, Oscar Wooley, Jr. and Nile Hunter; and two sisters, Ruth Hollabaugh and Nellie Mae Wooley.
Calling hours will be Monday, February 3rd from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the ROBERT W. WAID FUNERAL HOME, 581 CHESTNUT ST., MEADVILLE.
The funeral service will be Tuesday, February 4th at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home with John Gordon officiating.
